About Me
Hi, my name is Alexa. I was born and raised in Brampton, Ontario and I come from a Greek background. My husband is from a Jamaican background and we have an exceptionally beautiful 1 year old daughter and an outstanding 11 year old son. Life with kids can get a bit crazy, but I wouldn’t trade it! Growing up, I was a competitive dancer. I loved it, was so passionate about it, but once I was done high school, I decided it was time to stop spending my parents money on that, and start making my own money. While attending Wilfrid Laurier University, my biggest blessing happened - I met my (now) husband! He introduced me to a new path I had no idea about, but was much more fitting for me than the program I was enrolled in at the time. With his help and guidance, I was able to obtain my HLLQP license – something far more valuable than I even knew at that time. I didn’t put it to use right away, but he always made sure I kept it up and running and continued to learn everything I could about helping people protect what matters most – their families. Good thing, because now that I am working with RBC Insurance, I cannot begin to explain the opportunities and fulfillment it has brought me knowing that I am licensed to help people, as that is definitely my biggest passion in life. No matter which way, small or big, I just love to help others! In our spare time, which is a lot less now that there are kids in the picture, my husband and I coach high school basketball and football. This has brought pure joy to our lives, and allowed us to build a bit of a big family on and off the fields and courts! As a mom, I really don’t have spare time but I do love spending whatever time I can with my husband and our new daughter who is unbelievably already a toddler with the biggest personality you could imagine. I love to cook and bake for my family, although nowadays it is rather hard to fit all of that into my schedule as a working mama.
My Experience
By the age of 20, I was licensed in the insurance industry. I have gotten a taste of a few different companies and their take on things, but I can honestly say RBC has been the best all around! Due to covid and all it encompassed, I found myself working in a sign shop just prior to my current role - I know, total opposite end of the spectrum! I did enjoy working with my hands and learning all of the skills it takes to be a great sign shop worker, but something was missing...the ability to personally and directly help people and families and make a difference in their lives. I later found myself physically ill due to that field of work/environment, and with no income to help me pay all of my bills that – surprise surprise – did not pause just because I was too sick to work and bring in money! This was a big turning point in my life, and I never wanted to end up in that situation again. More than that, I didnt want ANYONE to end up in that situation, or any situation similar, regardless of who they are! Some years later, I now find myself in the role of a Life, Health & Wealth Advisor with RBC Insurance thriving and I couldnt be happier! I get to wake up every morning knowing I have the opportunity to help individuals as well as whole families make sure they are prepared, protected and have peace of mind on the topics that most people shy away from. I am always willing to go the extra mile, to ensure my clients are taken care of, no matter what. I love relating to clients and building meaningful relationships with them, and now that I am a mom as well, I find I am able to relate to so many more of my clients and it has just solidified that this is the perfect place for me! What a blessing it was to have met my husband when I did, attained my license when I did, and what a blessing it is to find myself helping families each and everyday to ensure they protect what matters most to them as well.
