About Me

My name is Nnamdi Agu, and I am a Life, Health and Wealth Advisor at RBC Insurance. Once upon a time, I was an international student from Nigeria who came to Canada alone at the age of 16. I was 11 thousand miles away from home, but I was on a mission to become a lawyer in Canada. I got into Carleton University’s Law Program on scholarship in my first year. I made sure every day, to speak to my family over the phone, whenever I came home from campus. My mother was my greatest influence. I recall speaking to her almost every day during my frosh week. All that changed one morning at 2am, when I got a call from my brother that mum had passed away. My world was shattered! I felt so alone, I realized how greatly my family was impacted by that loss, that I had to rethink my entire belief system. You see, My Mum didn’t have life insurance. So, my family was greatly impacted financially. My mission became clear; to help in reducing the impacts of the tragedies of loss and injury on people and families in my newfound community. Finally, to make this mission possible, I made the tough decision to quit my job as a paralegal, to pursue a career where I can provide financial and lifestyle security for Canadian families.
